Así que un pavo es cathartes aura.  El zopilote o noneca, que vive en América Central, es cathartes burroviana.  Así sabemos que los dos pájaros son de la misma familia.

So a turkey is cathartes aura.  The lesser yellow-headed vulture, which lives in Central America, is cathartes burroviana.  That's how we know that the two birds are related.
